Dormouse stoneware sculpture.
Part of my tiny creatures pottery series, these dormice are inspired by the joy found in observing the tiny details of nature. I wanted to recreate the magical feeling of carefully holding a tiny creature in your hand with these pieces. They feel really soothing to hold and fit perfectly in your hands, I was inspired by worry stones and small objects we carry to give us strength and courage when making these. They’re great listeners too and are more than happy to listen to you celebrate your wins and vent your worries.
I carefully sculpt each piece by hand and decorate with glazes. The way I decorated these sparrows didn’t turn out as I’d intended so they are reduced in price compared to the other pieces.
They are waterproof but I’m uncertain if they are frost proof, so best to keep them cosy in the house with you.
